FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything researchers ask us, grouped by subject.
Every lot is tested by three independent laboratories, every certificate is published before purchase, and every compound is supplied for laboratory research only.
Products and Catalog
What does BioLongevity Labs sell?
Research compounds supplied as lyophilized powder in sealed glass vials. The catalog covers research peptides and peptde bioregulators, along with reconstitution supplies.
Everything is supplied for laboratory research. Nothing in the catalog is a drug, a supplement or a consumer product.
What is a peptide?
A short chain of amino acids joined by peptide bonds, generally between 2 and 50 residues. Chains longer than roughly 50 residues are classed as proteins.
Peptides are studied as signaling molecules in cell culture and other in vitro models. Proteins more often carry structural or enzymatic roles.
Are your compounds synthetic or extracted?
Synthetic. Production runs by solid phase peptide synthesis in United States facilities, which gives batch to batch consistency that extraction from biological material cannot match.
Each lot is then verified against the same analytical reference as the lot before it.
Do you supply blends or only single compounds?
Both. Single compounds make up most of the catalog, and pre-formulated blends are offered where a combination has an established research literature.
Blends are tested and certified the same way single compounds are, with results reported per component.
Do you take requests for compounds you do not stock?
Yes. The catalog grows regularly, and requests inform what gets added. Email help@biolongevitylabs.com with the compound and the quantity you need.
We do not currently offer custom synthesis for one off sequences.
Quality and Testing
How many laboratories test each lot?
Three, all independent of our production chain. SafeCert Labs is a CLIA certified facility issuing batch certificates. BioRegen and MDx BioAnalytical Laboratory run identity, quantity, purity and endotoxin analysis by UHPLC-MS.
Because more than one lab examines the same lot, results can be compared against each other. Where two instruments and two analysts land within a hundredth of a percent, that agreement is evidence single lab testing has no way to produce.
Why does independent testing matter?
A manufacturer that also grades its own output has a commercial reason to report favorably. That is a structural conflict, not a question of intent.
An outside laboratory sells the reliability of its results, so its incentive runs the other way. It reports what the instrument measured.
What purity specification do you hold?
98% or 99% depending on the compound, measured by UHPLC-MS. The product page states the minimum the lot has to clear, and the certificate states what it actually measured.
A 99% specification with a 99.6% measured result means the lot cleared the floor with room to spare.
What analytical methods do you use?
Method
What it answers
UHPLC-MS (ultra high performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry)
Identity, quantity and purity in one run
Reversed-phase HPLC
Purity quantification and impurity resolution
Full scan mass spectrometry
Molecular weight against the reference spectrum
Endotoxin assay
Bacterial endotoxin against a 0.05 EU/mL threshold
Reference calibration curve
Quantity against a known standard series
Visual inspection
Cake formation, color and container integrity
Deeper treatment of each technique is in our reference guide to peptide quality control methods.
Is identity tested separately from purity?
Yes, and the distinction matters. Purity tells you how much of the sample is one compound. Identity tells you which compound that is.
The mass spectrometry channel of the UHPLC-MS run confirms the measured molecular weight against the target, checked against the registered CAS number where one exists. A purity figure with no identity test tells you a sample was clean without telling you what was in it.
Do you test for endotoxin, and against what limit?
Every lot, against a threshold of 0.05 EU/mL or lower. The threshold and the result are both printed.
Synthesis involves no bacteria, so the reason to test is downstream. Filling, lyophilization, storage and transit are all contamination routes, and endotoxin screening is what confirms those steps stayed clean.
Where are your compounds manufactured?
United States GMP facilities, under documented batch records and controlled process conditions. Testing and fulfillment are domestic as well, with chain of custody records held per lot.
Certificates of Analysis
What is a Certificate of Analysis?
The analytical record for one production lot. It reports what the material is, how pure it is, how much of it is in the vial, what it should look like, and what its endotoxin result was.
It is lot specific, not product specific. Two lots of the same compound have two different certificates.
Where do I find the certificate for my vial?
The lot number is printed on the vial label and the outer carton. Open the COA Library, filter by product, and match that number to the certificate title.
The whole lookup takes under a minute. Our COA Process page walks through it step by step.
My lot number is not in the library. What now?
Publication can lag manufacture by a short window, and transcription differences occasionally cause a mismatch. Email help@biolongevitylabs.com with a clear photo of the label and the document will be located for you.
How do I know a certificate is authentic?
Check it with the laboratory that issued it. BioRegen certificates carry a COA number and security key that resolve at bioregen.com/verify. MDx BioAnalytical certificates carry an identifier searchable at mdxbiolabs.com. Both print a QR code that opens the same record.
If a document number fails to resolve at the lab, email help@biolongevitylabs.com and it will be investigated.
Why do your certificates look different from each other?
More than one laboratory tests our material, and each issues documents in its own house format. Layouts, section names and field labels differ between them.
The measurements do not. Identity, purity, quantity and appearance appear on every certificate whichever lab produced it.
Why does my certificate show more milligrams than the label?
The label states the quantity the vial is filled to. The certificate states the quantity the laboratory measured.
Fills carry an allowance for handling and transfer loss, so the measured figure normally sits at or above the labeled quantity. Certificates that use a verdict column call this over-conforming rather than a failure.
Handling and Storage
How should lyophilized material be stored?
At -20°C in the original sealed vial, away from light and humidity. Under those conditions our compounds hold stability for three to five years.
Full handling detail is in our guide to lyophilized peptides.
How long does reconstituted material last?
Several days at 2°C to 8°C. For longer holds, aliquot in small volumes and freeze at -20°C or -80°C.
Repeated freeze-thaw cycles degrade material, which is what aliquoting avoids.
What should the powder look like?
White or off-white, with a fluffy or cake-like structure at the base of the vial.
Set a lot aside if you find liquid already present, discoloration, particulate matter, a broken or tampered stopper, or powder that will not dissolve with gentle swirling.
My vial does not seem vacuum sealed. Is it compromised?
No. Vacuum sealing is a packaging outcome, not a quality measure. A slight vacuum is sometimes created during lyophilization and sometimes is not, and its absence says nothing about the material inside.
Ordering and Payment
Do I need an account to order?
No account is needed to browse the catalog or read certificates. An account at checkout keeps your order history and certificates together, which most repeat buyers prefer.
Do you offer volume pricing?
Yes. Volume discounts begin at three vials and scale with quantity. Pricing shows in the cart with no code to enter.
For larger or recurring orders, our wholesale program carries separate terms.
Do you have a wholesale program?
Yes, for laboratories, institutions and resellers ordering at volume. Terms, minimums and account setup are on the wholesale policies page.
Can I change or cancel an order after placing it?
If it has not shipped, usually yes. Email help@biolongevitylabs.com straight away with your order number.
Once a package is with the carrier, neither the contents nor the delivery address can be changed.
What is your return policy?
Shipped research compounds are not returnable. Storage conditions cannot be verified once material leaves our custody, and a vial we cannot vouch for is a vial we will not resell.
Unopened non-compound items can be returned within 10 days of delivery, subject to a 15% restocking fee, refunded less return shipping. If a shipment arrives damaged or a lot fails to match its documentation, contact us and we will make it right.
Shipping and Delivery
How quickly do orders ship?
In stock compounds ship the same business day on orders placed before 12 PM PT. Orders after that cutoff ship the next business day.
How long does delivery take?
Domestic orders arrive in 3 to 5 business days on standard shipping, or 1 to 2 days expedited. International transit varies by destination and customs handling.
Is shipping free?
On domestic orders over $400, yes. Below that, rates calculate at checkout by weight and service level.
Do compounds need cold shipping?
No. Lyophilized material is stable at ambient temperature for the length of normal transit, which is one of the reasons it ships dry.
Move it to -20°C storage when it arrives.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, to qualified research institutions and laboratories. International shipments carry commercial invoices, the batch certificate, safety data sheets and research use only declarations.
Customs duties, import permits and any restrictions in your jurisdiction are your responsibility to confirm before ordering.
What if my package is lost or shows delivered but is not here?
Contact us straight away at help@biolongevitylabs.com. Where the carrier confirms non delivery, we reship at no cost.
If a package arrives damaged, photograph the outer box and the vials before unpacking further and send the images with your order number.
