Batch Testing and Documentation

Third-Party Testing and Quality Standards

Any supplier can print 99% on a label. The number only means something when an outside laboratory measured it and published the result where you can read it before you order.

Every batch we sell passes through nine verification checkpoints before it earns a label. We name the three certified laboratories we work with, so every testing claim can be checked.

This page documents the full process, the analytical methods behind each checkpoint, and what you receive in writing with every order.

Why Independent Testing

Independent Verification Before Purity Claims

When a manufacturer produces a compound and also tests it, the entity reporting the result has a financial stake in the result being favorable. That is a conflict of interest built into the structure, not a question of intent.

An independent laboratory outside the production chain has no stake in whether a batch passes. It reports what the instrument measured.

For work that has to be reproducible, this distinction decides whether an unexpected result reflects biology or reflects the vial. A misidentified or contaminated compound quietly corrupts every downstream measurement derived from it, and the failure usually surfaces weeks later.

Many research compound suppliers rely on one outside laboratory. We work with three.

Verification Standard

Nine Checkpoint Verification Standard

Each checkpoint catches a different way a research compound can fail. A batch only ships once it clears all nine. The sequence below follows the material from raw input to released vial.

Supplier and Raw Material Qualification

Raw materials are sourced only from manufacturing partners that meet defined qualification standards covering production practices, batch consistency, and documentation.

Every incoming shipment arrives with a supplier Certificate of Analysis that becomes the baseline for the next checkpoint.

Verification downstream cannot repair a compromised input. Qualification is the first filter.

Incoming Material Verification

Before anything enters production, arriving raw material is independently tested against the supplier certificate that came with it.

Where the outside result disagrees with the supplier document, the material does not proceed.

This catches a mismatch at the point where rejecting a batch costs a shipment rather than a production run.

Synthesis in USA Facilities

Compounds are produced by solid-phase peptide synthesis in United States facilities operating under cGMP-aligned quality practices, with controlled environments, defined process controls, and documented batch records.

Domestic production also shortens the chain of custody, which means fewer transfer points between synthesis and the vial.

Consistency between batch 1 and batch 40 comes from process control, above and beyond testing alone.

Lyophilization, Filling, and Seal Integrity

Finished material is lyophilized into the powder form you receive, filled into glass vials, and sealed with a rubber stopper and an aluminum or plastic cap.

The stopper forms the barrier against air and contaminants. Handling, filling, and sealing are checked as a stage in their own right because they are contamination routes even when the chemistry is clean.

A correct compound in a compromised container is still a failed batch.

Identity Confirmation

Mass spectrometry confirms that the measured molecular weight matches the target compound, and the result is checked against the registered CAS number where one exists.

Identity is confirmed as a separate test, not inferred from a purity peak.

Purity is meaningless until you know what was purified. If identity is wrong, every result derived from the vial is wrong.

Purity Quantification

Reversed-phase HPLC with UV detection quantifies purity and resolves related substances, truncated sequences, and process residues.

Specifications are set at 98% or 99% depending on the compound, and the measured result is reported as a number on the certificate rather than as a claim.

Impurities introduce uncontrolled variables. The specification is the floor and the measured figure tells you where the batch actually landed.

Endotoxin Screening

Each batch is screened for bacterial endotoxin, with the limit and the pass result both printed on the certificate.

Even when synthesis involves no bacteria, filling, lyophilization, storage, and transit are contamination routes in their own right. Endotoxin screening is what confirms those downstream steps stayed clean.

Endotoxin skews cell-based and in vitro assays at trace levels, well below anything visible in the vial.

Independent Verification Across Three Certified Laboratories

We work with three separate certified laboratories. All three sit outside our production chain and none of them is owned by us.

Laboratory

Role

SafeCert Labs

Independent CLIA-certified facility issuing batch Certificates of Analysis

BioRegen

Identity, quantity, and purity by ultra high performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry

AV Analytics

Identity, quantity, purity, and endotoxin analysis, with a photograph of the vial as received

When a batch is sent to more than one laboratory, the numbers can be compared against each other. Batch 4-3-46031 of our GLOW blend gives a worked example. One independent laboratory returned 99.75% purity. BioRegen, testing the same batch, returned 99.72%.

Agreement at that level across two independent instruments and two independent analysts is evidence that single-laboratory testing has no way to produce. Where figures diverge instead, the discrepancy surfaces before the batch reaches a research facility.

Redundant verification catches the errors that single-laboratory testing has no mechanism to detect. Naming the laboratories is part of the point, since a testing claim that will not identify who performed the testing cannot be checked.

Published Certificate of Analysis, Verifiable at the Source

Approved batches are issued a Certificate of Analysis carrying the analytical results, the testing methodology, and the signature of the certifying chemist or operations manager.

Certificates are published in our open COA database and readable before you order, without an account and without a request to our team.

They are also retrievable from the issuing laboratory directly. BioRegen certificates carry a COA number and security key that resolve at bioregen.com/verify. AV Analytics certificates carry a search code you can enter at avanalytical.com/coa-search. Older certificates in the library list their own verification details. You do not have to accept our copy of the document as authentic, because you can pull the original from the laboratory that wrote it.

A certificate hosted only by the supplier is a file the supplier controls. One retrievable from the issuing laboratory cannot be edited on our end.

Analytical Methods Behind the Standard

Method selection matters more than method count. A longer test panel is not a better test panel if the added assays do not address a real failure route for the material being analyzed.

What Every Certificate of Analysis Contains

A certificate is only as useful as the fields it fills in. Ours carry the following on every batch.

Warning Signs on Any Supplier Certificate

Apply these checks to us and to every other supplier you evaluate. A certificate that fails any of them is a marketing document rather than an analytical record.

Warning Sign What It Suggests
No issuing laboratory named The document may be self-issued with no outside oversight
Vague or missing methodology The technique and conditions cannot be evaluated
Purity reported with no identity test The measured compound was never confirmed to be the labeled one
Generic template rather than batch-specific results The document may not correspond to your material
Unsigned or undated certificate No accountable analyst or point in time
Certificate available only after purchase Verification cannot inform the buying decision

Vial Format, Seal Integrity, and Storage

Packaging questions come up often, and the answers are more practical than most product pages let on. The three points below cover what actually indicates a sound vial.

Vacuum Sealing Is Not a Quality Indicator

Vacuum sealing is not required for a lyophilized research compound to be sound. A slight vacuum is sometimes created during lyophilization, and its presence or absence says nothing about the material inside.

Some vials produce a faint pop or suction when the stopper is pierced and some do not. Both are normal.

What Sound Material Looks Like

Lyophilized powder should appear white or off-white, with a fluffy or cake-like structure at the base of the vial.

Set a batch aside if there is liquid already present, discoloration, particulate matter, a broken or tampered stopper, or if the powder fails to dissolve with gentle swirling during reconstitution.

Storage and Stability

Store lyophilized material at -20°C in the original sealed vial, away from light and humidity. Under those conditions our compounds hold stability for three to five years.

Reconstituted material is a different matter, remaining stable for several days at 2°C to 8°C. For longer holds, aliquot in small volumes and freeze at -20°C or -80°C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Documentation Included With Every Order

Analytical work that stays inside the supplier is not verification. Each shipment carries the paperwork that lets you audit it.

Questions Worth Asking Any Supplier

Use this list on us and on anyone else you are evaluating. The answers separate a testing program from a testing claim.

A supplier that cannot answer these plainly is asking you to substitute trust for evidence.

FAQ

Common Questions About Our Testing Standard

These are the questions researchers ask most often before placing a first order. Each answer points back to a document you can pull and read yourself.

Verify It Yourself

The point of publishing this process is that you should not have to take our word for any part of it.

Open the COA database, pull the certificate for any compound in the catalog, and read the analytical results before you order anything.

Then take it one step further. Find the COA number or search code on the certificate and enter it at the issuing laboratory, bioregen.com/verify or avanalytical.com/coa-search, to retrieve the original document from the source. Compare it against ours.

Once the documentation is in front of you, browse the research peptide catalog or the bioregulator line.
