Pinealon is a three-residue peptide built from L-glutamic acid, L-aspartic acid, and L-arginine. It is one of the short regulatory peptides described by V. Kh. Khavinson and colleagues at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology.
Unlike larger signaling peptides studied for receptor binding at the cell surface, the EDR peptide is examined for its ability to enter the cell nucleus and bind specific DNA sequences. That property places it in epigenetic and gene-expression research.
Each 20mg vial is supplied in freeze-dried form for stable storage. Researchers use it in cell culture, molecular docking, and oxidative stress assay work under controlled laboratory conditions.
Store the lyophilized compound at -20°C, protected from light and moisture.
After reconstitution, store at 2–8°C and use promptly.
Maintain aseptic handling to preserve compound integrity.
Lyophilized Format
This compound ships in lyophilized (freeze-dried) form. Freeze-drying supports long-term storage stability and preserves compound integrity. No fillers are added.

Lyophilized Pinealon should be kept at -20°C, protected from light and moisture. Once reconstituted, the solution should be held at 2–8°C and used promptly.
What Research Areas Is Pinealon Studied In?
Pinealon is studied in laboratory models of peptide and DNA binding, reactive oxygen species signaling, and neuronal cell culture. Recent work has examined dendritic morphology in cultured and induced neurons.
Research Overview
Pinealon is one of several short peptides examined for direct interaction with nuclear material. In HeLa cell experiments, fluorescein-labeled Pinealon appeared in the cytoplasm, nucleus, and nucleolus, and fluorescence quenching assays indicated preferential binding to CAG-containing deoxyribooligonucleotides [1].
In rat cerebellar granule cells, neutrophils, and PC12 cells, Pinealon restricted reactive oxygen species accumulation in a concentration-dependent manner and lowered necrotic cell death in the propidium iodide test [2]. These changes were accompanied by delayed ERK 1/2 activation and modification of the cell cycle [2].
A 2020 review proposes that the EDR peptide enters cells and binds histone proteins or nucleic acids. Through that route it may alter MAPK/ERK signaling and the synthesis of caspase-3, p53, SOD2, GPX1, PPARA, and PPARG [3].
Two research threads have drawn most of the follow-up work on Pinealon.
Gene Expression and Serotonin Synthesis Models
In aging cultures of rat brain cortex cells, Glu-Asp-Arg was associated with increased serotonin expression [4]. Molecular docking identified a CCTGCC sequence in the tryptophan hydroxylase gene that is complementary to the peptide [4].
Dendritic Spine and Neuronal Aging Models
In 5xFAD transgenic mice, the EDR peptide prevented dendritic spine loss, and docking studies located predicted binding sites in the promoter regions of several genes examined in that model [5].
In cortical neurons induced from aged donor dermal fibroblasts, EDR increased dendritic arborization and lowered oxidative DNA damage, with no change in mitochondrial or lysosomal activity [6]. In a rat model of elevated prenatal homocysteine, cerebellar neurons isolated from offspring showed lower reactive oxygen species accumulation and fewer necrotic cells [7].

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a document that verifies a compound’s identity, purity and quality through independent laboratory testing. Every compound from BioLongevity Labs is third-party tested, and its COA is published here, so researchers can review the testing record before a compound enters a protocol.
Each COA reports results from third-party laboratory analysis, including:
Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS) for purity, measured against a 98% or 99% specification depending on the compound
Mass identification for molecular confirmation and content quantitation
Endotoxin testing by Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) or recombinant Factor C (rFC) assay, depending on the laboratory
Visual and physical characterization of the finished material
How to Verify a COA Independently
You can check every certificate against the issuing laboratory’s own records, not just the copy hosted here. Verification does not depend on BioLongevity Labs.
AV Analytics certificates carry a search code. Scan the QR code on the certificate to open the laboratory’s verification page, or enter the search code at avanalytical.com/coa-search to pull the official record.
BioRegen reports of analysis carry a Report ID and a Validation Key. Scan the QR code on the certificate to open the official record, or quote both identifiers when you contact the laboratory at the address printed on the report.
SafeCert Labs issued a number of earlier certificates. Each one carries a COA number and the signature of the reporting chemist. Quote that number when you ask the laboratory to confirm it.
Older certificates from other laboratories list their own verification details on the document.
When a batch is sent to more than one laboratory, each certificate resolves at its own issuing laboratory. A researcher can then check the results against two unrelated sources.
These COAs come from independent certified laboratories, not in-house testing. That gives researchers a verifiable record of molecular integrity for each compound. All compounds are supplied for research use only.
